I have adopted a vegetarian diet for at least five days a week. I limit my dairy products to yogurt and hard cheese no more than twice a week. I have found moderation and flexibility to be the most valuable attitudes to take in treating my psoriasis. It has developed into psoriatic arthritis, which flares with the same unpredictability as my skin. I have added lecithin, cod liver oil, vitamin E and evening primrose oil as dietary supplements. For the first time in 10 years of struggle, I feel that my situation is manageable … I work on stress reduction using yoga, and I have finally accepted psoriasis as something that requires daily care, just like my teeth, diet, rest and exercise. As I take it one day at a time, anything is possible in managing something as unpredictable as psoriatic arthritis.
