My psoriasis first appeared during my early teens and was quite severe. Fortunately, it was largely controlled with the prescribed creams mentioned elsewhere on the site. Since then, I have experienced mild outbreaks and am currently going through one now. It seems to me that mine is probably stress-related as I have a wonderful wife and family, good diet, drink very little alcohol and get plenty of exercise (being a postman). The only changes to my lifestyle are the financial difficulties which many of us are experiencing right now. This is why I believe it to be stress-related as it ties in with other outbreaks when things have been tough.
I have found that after-sun lotions work extremely well, possibly due to the aloe vera, possibly due to the other ingredients, I don’t know for sure. Anyway, much has been said about the possible benefits of aloe vera and if this is a preferred treatment I would suggest getting an aloe vera plant. They are extremely easy to grow and you can easily separate them as they grow, to produce yet more plants. This way you have an almost endless supply of completely natural aloe vera gel straight from the plant.
