I have had psoriasis for over 20 years. Sometimes it would be very severe and once in a while it would go away for no apparent reason (but never for more than a month). It has been a most depressing, frustrating, and humiliating experience as everyone who has it knows.
I tried all kinds of treatments. Some were from tips I received from “It Works For Me” and some were expensive prescriptions from doctors. A year and a half ago I started acupuncture and have found it is the best treatment I have tried so far. I use only coca butter lotion after my daily shower now. My psoriasis is almost totally gone. My acupuncturist has a community practice so it is very affordable. Besides relieving my skin condition it is the most relaxing treatment I have ever had.

Where is your acupuncturist located?
I am interested in the acupuncture for my husband as he also suffers with psoratic arthritis. Is this special treatment for psorasis – how would I find somthing like this in my area – we lie in Dallas, TX.
Hi Amy and Shirley: Acupuncture aims to restore and maintain health through the stimulation of specific points on the body using a variety of techniques. Here are two directories you can use to locate certified acupuncture practitioners in your area:

Best of luck and please email us at education@psoriasis.org if we can be of further assistance.
