Olive oil for scalp psoriasis

January 25, 2013 — 11:16pm

Thank you to everyone who have contributed their stories! I’m 27, and have had moderate (10-20% body coverage) psoriasis since I was 7. I used to use various prescription medications on my scalp, but recently I’ve found that applying olive oil and wearing a hat overnight is a cheaper and equally effective alternative. In the morning, I take a shower and shampoo two or three times with a salicylic acid shampoo (Sebcur, made by a Canadian company, is my absolute favorite) and my scalp feels great for days. A pleasant side effect is that my hair has become more shiny and soft! Good luck to all of you in finding the tricks that work for you.
