Doak Oil

February 4, 2013 — 11:32pm

I have had guttate psoriasis for five years. Recently a friend recommended DOAK oil. I was a bit hesitant because I am allergic to the tar treatments recommended by my dermatologist. After a particularly itchy week I relented and tried dabbing DOAK oil on my spots with a cotton ball. The itching stopped right away and I did not experience an allergic reaction to the tar. I now bathe nightly in a DOAK oil bath–it keeps my skin from burning and swelling at night. It is a bit smelly but I now associate the smell with relief.

Editor’s note: Doak Oil is manufactured by Doak Dermatologics, a subsidiary of Bradley Pharmaceuticals. For a full list of products, visit http://www.doakderm.com/
