Lanolin for Feet

February 24, 2014 — 4:41pm
After a trip to the state fair in Minnesota, I now use Merino Lanolin Skin Creme on the soles of my feet. I apply it every day before I put my socks on. My primary care physician said today, “What do you use? I know how bad your feet used to look.” Most of the... Read more »

Great Lotion

August 28, 2013 — 6:04pm
Pre de Provence Argan Body Butter has all but taken my plaque psoriasis away in one weekend. I’ve found it at Bath and Body Works (ordered online) – about $20/jar but it goes a long way. I’ve never seen anything like it and it doesn’t burn. Read more »

Balnetar, Exorex and home UVB

March 26, 2013 — 6:08pm
I bathe in Balnetar [tar product], using my prescribed home therapy lamp aggressively, and use Exorex Emulsifying Lotion [tar product] followed by their moisturizer. I am happy to report that my palms, elbows, feet and thighs are greatly improved! I still have a way to go on my lower legs, but everything is better! Read more »

Scalp psoriasis

February 6, 2013 — 8:51pm
I have had scalp psoriasis for over twenty years. Like others who suffer, I’ve tried numerous shampoos and lotions. Then I stumbled across a product named Softee Coconut Oil Hair & Scalp Conditioner. It has the consistency of Vaseline. I massage a small amount on my scalp twice a week before bedtime and then shampoo... Read more »

Elbow sleeves or plastic wrap

February 6, 2013 — 7:38pm
I found the best way to remove plaques from areas like the elbows and knees is to moisturize with your favorite lotion then cover it so the plaques can soften. You can use plastic wrap but I have elbow sleeves that hold in the moisture. You leave them on for a few hours and then... Read more »

February 1, 2013 — 6:30pm
I am totally clear of psoriasis and I want to share my secrets with you. I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo, available in most salons, and I have been able to wear black tops for years. I alternate Dettol Soap, which is very strong and can be purchased online, with other milder soaps. About... Read more »

Calamine lotion

January 25, 2013 — 11:44pm
I have had very mild psoriasis for years, until now. My foot is covered and the itch and pain drive me crazy. I tried four different prescription creams which did nothing to ease the itching. I’ve started soaking my foot in water with ocean salt and washing it with Head and Shoulders (watered down). The... Read more »

Bloomers

January 25, 2013 — 12:41am
I found a great way to put on your psoriasis creams and lotions and not get it everywhere (bed, couch, clothes, etc.). There is a medical item called a bloomer; it is basically a plastic suit designed for people with incontinence, but I have found that it has other applications. Before you go to sleep... Read more »

Turmeric and a moisturizer

December 14, 2012 — 9:29pm
I find that adding tumeric to my diet helps keep psoriasis outbreaks down to a minimum. First check with your doctor before consuming it because of its properties. I find that applying Avon’s Moisture Therapy Intensive Hand Cream regularly to the affected areas also helps to heal psoriasis. Read more »
