Scalp psoriasis

April 3, 2013 — 9:53pm
I used Fluocinolone Acetonide scalp oil just when i need it at nite. I cover my hair with a shower cap, then in the morning I wash with T-Sal shampoo and t-gel conditioning. It works great on my scalp (my head was covered with 100% scalp psoriasis). I hope it will help somebody! Read more »

T/Sal, cod liver oil, Vaseline

I am a 61-year-old gentleman who has suffered with psoriasis for over 25 years. A friend of mine at work, who works in hazardous waste, was about to throw away a bottle of T/Sal [salicylic acid shampoo made by Neutrogena] shampoo because it was one year old. My company makes fragrances for shampoos and other... Read more »

Diet and bathing tips

I alternate Grandpa’s Pine Tar soap and Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo [tar product] for one week and Psoriasil Medicated Scalp and Body Wash [OTC salicylic acid product] the next. The weather has been pleasant enough to allow three or four days a week of 20-minute sunbathing. Petroleum jelly is still my most reliable skin protectant. I... Read more »

Fragrance-free

I have had scalp psoriasis since I was 12 (I’ll be 28 next month). I have tried a medicated shampoo and every over-the-counter shampoo you can possibly get. The one medicated shampoo that I tried was when I was still pretty young and hated the way it smelled, so I didn’t give it a fair... Read more »

I have had scalp psorisis for 3 years. Clobex Shampoo is the only product that works for me. I use it with Tarsum Shampoo. My psoriasis always comes back when I stop using the Clobex. Editor’s note: Clobex shampoo is a prescription product with the steroid clobetasol propionate. Tarsum shampoo has coal tar and salicylic... Read more »

I have had scalp psoriasis for over twenty years. Like others who suffer, I’ve tried numerous shampoos and lotions. Then I stumbled across a product named Softee Coconut Oil Hair & Scalp Conditioner. It has the consistency of Vaseline. I massage a small amount on my scalp twice a week before bedtime and then shampoo... Read more »

Treating scalp

February 6, 2013 — 6:08pm
I spent a long time trying to figure out how to treat my severe scalp psoriasis. Here is what finally worked for me: 1) I went to a top-of-the-line dermatologist. It cost me extra money in the short run (top derms in my city don’t take insurance) but it was SO worth it. It was... Read more »

Shampoo, soap, diet & moisturizer

I am totally clear of psoriasis and I want to share my secrets with you. I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo, available in most salons, and I have been able to wear black tops for years. I alternate Dettol Soap, which is very strong and can be purchased online, with other milder soaps. About... Read more »

Aveda Scalp Benefits

January 28, 2013 — 9:42pm
I’ve had difficult scalp psoriasis off and on for years. Westwood stopped making the only tar shampoo that worked for me. My alternative off-day shampoo and conditioner were from Aveda. One day in the Aveda shop, I asked if they had one that would help with psoriasis. They said they did: Scalp Benefits. I was... Read more »
